Huge shout-out to our Operations team!! HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, grounds, custodial, warehouse and building maintenance - every trade stepped up and did an amazing job during the ice storm. Extra thanks to our warehouse manager keeping the ice melt and supplies coming. TEAMWORK.

Affecting SPHS and STMS so make alternate routes to these locations starting on January 5th for several months.

UPDATE: This has been completed and the bridge has reopened.

SCDOT will close E Robertson Road bridge over Wildcat Creek near South Pointe High School for bridge replacement starting January 5 and is expected to last until June.

As part of this closure, a detour route will be set up using Neely Road, Crawford Road, and Ogden Road. E Robertson Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the bridge site.

Please slow down and pay attention to signs and crews in the area.

Remembering Clyde Mitchell — a dedicated professional who spent decades committed to his work with Rock Hill Schools before retirement. As a valued member of the construction management team, he was respected by all who worked with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. He will be truly missed.

Edgemoor, SC – Clyde Melvin Mitchell, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Rock Hill Post Acute Care Center.

We enjoyed this year’s Thanksgiving Luncheon with our team, Superintendent Dr. Elder and our friends from the Print Center, IT and Safety & Risk Management. It’s not often we all get a chance to slow down and just connect, especially with the work we do every day to keep our schools maintained, safe, and running the way our students and staff deserve.

The season of Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and we are so grateful for this group — the teamwork, the friendships, the laughs, and the shared commitment to our schools.
