FriYay Learning! At ABC'S of Math Tutoring, we pride ourselves in individualized learning suitable for each scholar. My scholar is enjoying her worksheet using the online spinner that chooses which question she should start with. This teaches scholars to start anywhere on the page and insert motivation with this tool. Three key things in this session:

✏️ Allowing my scholar to draw out her learning versus pressuring her to remember vocabulary

✏️ Providing individualized guided notes (designed by me)

✏️ Including an interactive notebook she can use at home to review or in class with her work there.

Happy Monday! ABC'S of Math Tutoring is back at it for a new week of learning mastery and positive affirmations. I love researching ways to incorporate literacy and confidence in math lessons activities. Research is my thing!

I've found a IG teacher that uses "Answer Banks" to help students visualize what their answers are supposed to look like. My students loved this today! Secondly, say these affirmations with your scholar for their new week of school:

✏️I can learn new things.
✏️I can make connections with my learning to real life
✏️ It is okay if I haven't learned it, yet. I will continue to practice until I see progress
✏️Progress over Perfection

Happy Thursday! My returning tutee is showing true gains! She asked how could she do the problem without a calculator. Although the goal is to use the resources and tools available to you, it is equally important to develop strategies without the use of those tools!! Go tutee!!!!!

Happy Sunday! Little Miss Favorite Teacher Tutor has been busy this past week! Upcoming posts this week! Two things:

1. Don't forget to have a pep talk with your scholar before the school day! End it with a hug (if they like hugs) 😉 or a comfortable gesture like a fist pump.

On Fridays, we do math! Today's tutee is a returning client! Soo excited to work with her again. Last school term, I worked with her twice a week for 4 weeks to prepare ger for testing and help her retain and enrich what she had already learned. This year, we are back at it beginning with a diagnostic to assess her 8th grade readiness. Book your consultation today!
