Spending time with the details that matter.
This week the Rochester Institute of Technology occupational therapy faculty are working with the Bioness H200 Wireless Hand Rehabilitation System, exploring how it can be integrated into real, functional tasks.
Tools like this have been part of rehabilitation for some time. What continues to evolve is how we use them and how we can better integrate the technology into clinical practice. In this session, the focus is on timing, control, and the ability to trigger movement in the context of activity rather than in isolation.
That shift may seem small, but it changes how we think about intervention, how we support participation, and how we connect technology back to occupation.
This is the kind of work we are building into our OTD program at RIT. Our students will have exposure to technology along with a careful attention to how it fits into clinical reasoning and everyday function.
If you are interested in seeing more, we will be sharing our work at Imagine RIT on April 25, 2026. We would love to have you stop by. https://www.facebook.com/events/786827470653951
