✨This past week, our students explored the Wonder of Learning inquiry question: “What Is a Home?” 🏡

Across classrooms, children discovered that a home can be a feeling, a space, a structure, or even something imagined together.💖

🐷After reading the story of "The Three Little Pigs," Toddler classrooms experimented with building houses from blocks, sticks, and straw—testing which materials felt the strongest and learning through hands‑on STEM play. 🧱🪶

Our Pre‑K students took their curiosity even further, while leaning into their excitement for Halloween. After brainstorming what makes a home, they collaborated to design and build a large cardboard haunted house—big enough for everyone to fit inside! They sketched blueprints, constructed walls, voted on spooky design elements, and graphed their tallied votes to guide the final design touches.😱🌚

Their haunted house became a perfect example of how children’s interests shape meaningful learning. Sometimes “home” is cozy and familiar… and sometimes it’s a spooky cardboard creation built with friends.

We💙Book Bus Fridays! 📚🚌
Our friends from the Rochester Hills Public Library rolled in today, and our students hopped aboard to check out a book of their choice. After that, our favorite local librarian, Ms. Sara, brought the magic right into the classroom with a cozy read‑aloud. We love opening up new worlds through the pages of a good book.

Big smiles, new stories, and a whole lot of wonder = the perfect Friday combo. Drop a comment and let us know your favorite book to read at home with your little one!!

🎨This week our infants dove into color, texture, and pure curiosity—creating beautiful bottle art that’s equal parts wiggly, giggly, and wonderfully expressive.

As they explored and created, those tiny hands were hard at work strengthening finger, hand, and grip muscles—building fine motor skills one joyful shake at a time. 🎨💜

✨New routines are leading to new discoveries across our classrooms as students dive into our Wonder of Learning units exploring, 'Who Am I?' and 'How Do I Move?'

From tummy time to teamwork, uncovering hidden numbers in paintings, yoga movement and hunting for their names, children are learning who they are and how they move through joyful exploration and play. 💖

From prehistoric findings at the Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve to galactic-sized discoveries in our study of 'What Is In Outer Space?', our learners loved seeing how exploration helps us uncover the stories of our world — and beyond. 🌎✨🌿

🌟Our youngest explorers gazed at twinkling stars, and used ribbon movement to imitate shooting stars while reading Star Light, Star Bright together. Preschoolers created their own star constellations and practiced early writing in “stardust,” building fine‑motor skills through imaginative play. And in Pre‑K, children became true sky scientists as they charted the phases of the moon and observed how our night sky changes over time. 🌑🌖🌗🌘🌚

From fossils beneath our feet to galaxies far above, our learners discovered that curiosity connects everything — past, present, and the universe beyond. 🚀🌠

The thing about a Goddard preschooler is they’re going to be curious. Keep the questions coming 👏

Personally, we’d hire them as videographers 📹

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
