RIT Honors Art and Design

The College of Art and Design's Honors is just one division of the Honors Program that encompasses all of RIT’s different colleges.

As a member of the RIT Honors Program, students have the opportunity to take Honors courses, and are also assigned a specific advisor familiar with Honors coursework. Each college also has an Honors Advocate to assist students with meeting the demands of both their degree programs and the Honors Program. Students also have the opportunity to live in the Honors dorm (Gibson), and are guaranteed housing there throughout their time at RIT if they desire it. In addition, Honors students are eligible to receive a one-time $500 Study Abroad grant, to be used at the time of their choosing. Within CIAS, students also have the opportunity to be a part of a close-knit group of students, and to participate in Leadership Trips, frequent workshops and local excursions, movie nights, and lots of fun!

THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 24 at 5pm, we will be hosting an Honors Option Workshop in the Neblette Conference Room in Gannett. We will be going over Honors Option requirements and having students present examples of previous projects. We hope to see you there! 💜

FREE trip for CAD Honors students to visit the Memorial Art Gallery in Downtown Rochester. SUNDAY, FEB 11, 2-5 PM! ‼️

Bus transportation provided from RIT campus leaving at 2 pm from the North Bus Shelter located at the top of parking lot F closest to the Chester Carlson Center for Imaging Science and leaving the MAG for RIT at 4:30 pm.

Museum admission and bus transportation is FREE for CAD Honors students or Honors students in any of the other RIT colleges; Non-Honors students within CAD — bus transportation is FREE — you just need to pay for your museum ticket yourself— cost is $9 with college ID.

Curious (or confused) about how to earn Honors points in CAD? Come join us at our Honors Points and Pizza event tomorrow!! Enjoy some food and learn about earning Honors points in CAD! A handful of CAD Honors upperclassmen will be sharing their experiences with Honors points, providing valuable insight and advice, and helping answer questions.

CAD Honors is hosting our final trip to close out the semester: a trip to see the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen at the RBTL Theatre!

There are 20 first-come, first-served tickets available through CampusGroups (link down below). Tickets are available until this Friday, 4/8 at noon so get them before they’re gone!

We are unable to provide transportation and are relying on carpooling. After registering, please email Jessica Ellison ([email protected]) if you have a car and are willing to drive other students!
