With a commitment to social-emotional wellness for RCS students, the RCS Foundation shared $1,680 to support elementary students with significant emotional and behavioral needs. Gina Belcastro was awarded this grant to acquire specialized learning resources at Long Meadow, including fidgets, weighted lap pads, noise-canceling headphones, sensory bins, calm-down kits, flexible seating, soft lighting and specialized books and games.

These tools empower and support students with emotional impairments to have successful integrative learning experiences with their same-age peers in the general education setting.

The RCS Foundation shared $2,250 for instructional tools to enhance social-emotional learning for students in the early childhood special education program. Paula Suddon was awarded this grant to support students at Brewster, Hampton, North Hill and University Hills as they learn about sharing, personal space and taking turns.
