The UR music department takes on NYC for a 4th year in a row! This year we started the trip at the Museum if Modern Art with a tour assisted by UR Alum followed by the musical Wicked and some late night fun in SoHo… today we have our group dinner and the MET Opera and NY Phil!

The Arthur Satz Department of Music is pleased to announce the 2026 Rochester Carillon Composition Competition! We invite submissions of music pieces for the Hopeman Carillon, the 50-bell instrument atop Rush Rhees Library, due by March 15, 2026. Prizes of up to $2,000 are available, and only University of Rochester students and alumni are eligible to participate. Check out the “Composition Award” page on the department’s website to learn more about eligibility and submission guidelines!
