DVC’s The House of Hands: hymns of a new dawn, a world premiere production of the novel written by J. C. Savage, adapted for the stage by M. J. Savastano

Directed by Jamie DiGiacco & M. J. Savastano

Performances: July 10, 11, 16, 17, 18 @ 7:30, July 12 @ 2 at MuCCC.

Auditions will be held Sunday, March 22 2-5pm & Monday, March 23 6:30-9:30pm by appointment only at Flying Squirrel Community Space, 285 Clarissa St.

Rehearsals, beginning Sunday, May 31, will also be at Flying Squirrel.

Reflection this past week on DVC/hummingbird theatre co.'s run of Hedda Gabler continually circles back around to the concept of sacrifice. Launching a full production without charging admission requires a great deal of work from many people for little or no extrinsic reward. Doing so while presenting two distinctly different productions each week presented unique challenges for all involved.

Our cast and crew showed great bravery, generosity, and unity, which was particularly essential in a show such as this one. The unique nature of the process required even more vulnerability and selflessness than usual, and, as expected, everyone was on board from day one. Thank you all.

In addition, We'd like to thank our stalwart contingent of allies who aided us throughout this process, who continue to astound us with their talent.

And, finally, a warm thank you to those of you who took the time and effort to attend one (or more!) of our performances, and generously donated what you were able--whatever amount that might have been--to the cause. It will not be forgotten.
