Today marked the latest LETRS training session, part of a first-of-its-kind collaboration among five local charter schools.
Beginning in the fall of 2024, elementary educators from Exploration Elementary Charter School for Science & Technology, Innova Girls Academy, Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts, Rochester Academy Charter School, and Rochester Academy of Science Charter School joined together to complete LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training, which provides educators with the skills needed to master the fundamentals of reading instruction in any curriculum.
The program is the gold standard for Science of Reading training across the U.S. Educators complete two years of training with in-person sessions and asynchronous, online work.
We're honored to help make this collaboration possible and support schools working to improve outcomes for every child (photo from a previous session).

Many came out as we brought together all Rochester charter schools for a Hiring Fair. Unlike traditional job fairs, the Rochester Charter School Hiring Fair was structured to deliver immediate results. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in on-site interviews, meet directly with school leaders, and potentially walk away with an offer in hand.
The event reflected the growing demand for talented educators and staff dedicated to improving outcomes for Rochester students.
Both experienced professionals and individuals exploring a transition into education attended.
