Proud of John!

Today we said goodbye to this year’s intern, John — and what a full-circle moment it has been. ❤️

John joined us this year and quickly put his culinary skills to work helping prepare the nightly meals we serve our students. From meal prep to taking care of dinners on his own, he stepped up time and time again without ever needing to be asked. Beyond that, he’s been an incredible mentor, role model, and friend to so many of our younger students in our After School Program.

But the best part?

John was once an Outlet kid himself.

When he moved to Rochester in middle school, The Outlet became a place where he could find support, connection, and new friendships during a major life transition. Now, as a senior, he came back to give his time, talents, and heart to the next generation of students walking through our doors.

John is exactly why this work matters. Watching students grow into leaders who pour back into their community is one of the greatest gifts we could ask for.

We are so proud of you, John, and so grateful to have been part of your story. 💚💚💚

Lunch with our JAG class 💛

We squeezed in one more lunch together before the semester wraps up, and wow… the emotions are hitting. Our Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) family has grown so close, and knowing this chapter is ending is bittersweet.

So grateful for the laughs, the conversations, and the memories this group has given me. Proud of every single student and all they’ve accomplished — and even though this program is ending, each and every student will always hold a special place in my heart.

Some of our class went shopping Thursday for ! Each student shopped for a Fulton County child and I think we had a lot of fun helping those families in need! 🛒🩶🎄☺️

There once was a student who said,
“College costs keep filling me with dread!”
But one simple app
Put scholarships on tap
And their future looked brighter ahead 🎓✨
