Schwartz Discover Grant 02/14/2024

Schwartz Discover Grant applications, ‘Ask an Alum’ workshop
The Schwartz Discover Grant application period for summer research funding is now open. All current University undergraduate students who will be returning in the fall semester and are planning to do unpaid research this summer under a University supervisor may apply for the Discover Grant for summer undergraduate research funding. The application deadline is March 3.

Learn more about the Schwartz Discover Grant at an “Ask an Alum” workshop where students bring their questions and application drafts for feedback from prior award recipients. Attend the workshop on Thursday, February 15 in the Humanities Center, Rush Rhees Library, Conference Room D, between 5 and 7 p.m. Pizza will be served. Pre-registration is appreciated but not required. Contact the Office of Undergraduate Research via email with questions.

Student panel on getting started in student research

Join the Office of Undergraduate Research for a presentation and student panel on getting started in undergraduate research. Learn from current undergraduates about their tips and strategies for finding research opportunities: where to look, how to reach out to prospective mentors, and what to expect. Topics also include:

- What is AURA? (Access to Undergraduate Research Activities)
- How can I find summer opportunities?
- What is the Schwartz Discover Grant for summer research?

The panel takes place Thursday, October 5, from 5 to 6 p.m. in Hoyt Auditorium. You can also check out the office’s Getting Started Guide to learn more about student research.

Grocery bag orders will be available for pick-up Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the main desk on the third floor of Genesee Hall.
