Nine summers. Countless memories. Lifelong friendships. Endless possibilities. 💙🎓

After spending the last 9 summers growing and learning with Horizons at Harley, our incredible 8th graders are almost ready to celebrate a milestone they’ve been working toward for years. This Friday, they will graduate from Horizons and begin an exciting new chapter.

As part of this special tradition, each graduate’s portrait is proudly displayed in our gallery, where family, friends, staff, alumni, and visitors are invited to leave a handwritten message of encouragement, congratulations, or advice. These heartfelt notes become treasured keepsakes, reminding our students just how many people believe in them and are cheering them on.

To our soon-to-be graduates: We are so proud of the young people you have become. Thank you for letting us be part of your journey. We can’t wait to celebrate you on Friday—and we know this is only the beginning of all the amazing things you’ll accomplish.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🌟💙

Today our 7th and 8th grade Horizons students traded the classroom for the great outdoors with an unforgettable adventure at Letchworth State Park! 🌿🌊

From breathtaking overlooks to scenic trails, our students had the opportunity to experience one of New York’s most beautiful natural treasures while spending time together, exploring, learning, and making lasting memories.

At Horizons at Harley, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Field trips like these inspire curiosity, build community, and give our students the chance to discover the world around them in meaningful ways.

A day filled with fresh air, laughter, adventure, and the beauty of nature is a day well spent! 💙💚

Teamwork met engineering in today’s STEAM challenge!

Our Engineering Challenges class put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work as they learned about the science behind bridges. Working in teams, students designed and built their own bridge structures before putting them to the ultimate test—seeing just how much weight they could hold!

Through planning, collaboration, testing, and redesigning, our young engineers discovered that every great design starts with an idea and gets even better through teamwork and perseverance. We loved watching students cheer each other on as they experimented and learned from every challenge.

Who knew building bridges could be this much fun?

Innovation, creativity, and teamwork were on full display in our 5–8 Robotics class today!

As part of our STEAM week, our middle school students put their problem-solving skills to the test by designing, building, and programming robots. Every challenge encouraged them to think critically, collaborate with their peers, and keep improving through trial and error.

From coding to engineering, these future innovators are discovering that robotics is about so much more than technology—it’s about creativity, perseverance, and bringing ideas to life.

We’re so proud of the incredible work our students are doing as they explore the exciting world of STEAM!

Science is even better when it gets a little messy!

Our second K–2 STEAM group rolled up their sleeves and dove into hands-on science this week as they experimented with homemade slime and oobleck! From mixing ingredients to exploring the fascinating properties of these unique materials, our young scientists made observations, asked questions, and discovered that some of the best learning happens through play.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and sticky hands as our students embraced the excitement of experimenting and exploring. We love seeing their curiosity come to life!

Our 5th–8th grade robotics students jumped right into the world of innovation and engineering this week!

Our young engineers got hands-on with robotics kits and coding challenges, designing, building, and programming robots to complete a variety of exciting tasks. From troubleshooting sensor challenges to refining movement and code, students explored how technology and engineering work together to solve real-world problems.

There were plenty of “debugging” moments, teamwork wins, and big celebrations when robots finally moved just as planned (plus a few unexpected surprises along the way!). At Horizons, we love watching students think critically, collaborate, and persist through challenges like true engineers.

Here’s to a week full of creativity, innovation, and future-ready thinking! 💡✨

🔬🧪 It’s the beginning of STEAM Weeks at Horizons at Harley! 🎨⚙️📚

This week and next our theme is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and our K–2 students kicked things off with some wonderfully messy science fun!

Our young scientists rolled up their sleeves to explore the fascinating properties of matter by creating slime and oobleck. As they mixed, stretched, squeezed, and experimented, they discovered how science comes to life through curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning.

There were plenty of giggles, lots of sticky fingers, and even more “wow!” moments as students asked questions, tested ideas, and learned through play. At Horizons, we know that some of the best learning happens when children are encouraged to explore, create, and get a little messy along the way!

Here’s to an exciting week filled with discovery, innovation, and imagination! 💚✨

Today our Horizons at Harley kindergartners took a deep breath, stretched, and found their calm during classroom yoga as part of their Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) time. 🧘💙

Through playful poses, mindful breathing, and moments of quiet reflection, our youngest learners are building important skills like self-regulation, focus, confidence, and resilience. These moments help set the foundation for success not only in the classroom, but in life.

We love watching our kindergarten students grow stronger in both body and mind, one pose at a time! 🌟💛
