Constitutional carry sounds simple: if you can legally own a gun, why should you need a permit to carry it?

That debate is getting louder in Michigan, but there’s an important point that often gets lost: removing a permit requirement does not remove the responsibility that comes with carrying a fi***rm.

Michigan is still a CPL state today, and even in permitless-carry states, gun owners still have to understand self-defense law, prohibited locations, interstate travel, de-escalation, and the consequences of a bad decision.
