NY Kappa of Tau Beta Pi, The Engineering Honor Society

NY Kappa of TBP aims to make unique opportunities available to all students at the U of R. Like us to keep up-to-date on what we have to offer!

Tau Beta Pi is the oldest engineering honor society and the second oldest collegiate honor society, established in 1885 at Lehigh University. The University of Rochester is home to the New York Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, which was officially recognized in 1947. Our chapter strives to recognize students in the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences for academic achievement and exemplary character. Eligible students receive invites in the early Fall or Spring semester. Juniors in the top 1/8th and seniors in the top 1/5th of the engineering school are invited. Our chapter offers free tutoring for underclass students that are struggling with introductory STEM courses. In addition, we host professional development workshops for all engineering students and collaborate with other organizations on campus to perform STEM Outreach in the city of Rochester.
