Recently one of our Toxicology Trainees, Adelaide, went to the Endocrine-disrupting Chemicals: Hazards and Opportunities Workshop which was held through UChicago's Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA. The ultimate goal of the course is to bring together individuals across the entire field to broaden their understanding and forge cross-disciplinary collaborations with the goal of advancing the field and training future leaders. Take a look at some of the images captured by Addie from her time at the ECHO workshop!

Congratulations to the new Dr. Alyssa Merrill for successfully defending her thesis last week under the direction of Dr. Marissa Sobolewski and Dr. Deborah Cory-Sletcha. Her work focused on studying endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on maternal health during pregnancy. She found that there is a unique cardiometabolic effect on pregnant mice which highlights the need to consider pregnancy as a critical window for EDC exposures to ensure safe levels of EDCs are not overestimated, failing to protect public health.
