RIT’s College of Art and Design welcomes entries of work from all artists and makers. Both traditional and non-traditional jewelry and/or object materials and techniques will be considered. Works will be selected by invited jurors Luci Jockel and Zach Mellman-Carsey and exhibited in Bevier Gallery on the RIT campus in Rochester, New York.

IN COLLABORATION is a juried exhibition that asks that artists consider who or what their collaborators are and write an artist statement that elaborates on the way it occurs within their practice.

When we conceptualize what it means to collaborate, we think of working together, in conjunction, and jointly with another. Jewelers and metalsmiths do this inherently, we create adornment and objects that work in tandem with the body. We wear the jewelry, or we interact physically with the forged spoon or raised cup. However, as jewelers and metalsmiths in the 21st century we not only collaborate with the body but also with other human beings, animals, tools, machines, materials, time, and places to name a few.

DATES:
Accepting submissions: April 15- August 15, 2025

Show dates: October 9 - November 8, 2025

ELIGIBILITY:

All makers and artists working in traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques are encouraged to apply. Artworks must be thematically linked to the call through both the production of the artwork and the text provided. Artworks must be created within the past 3 years. All collaborators must be attributed.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE APPLICATION TO OPEN APRIL 15, 2025
