MCC is closed today in observance of Independence Day tomorrow. This 4th of July marks the Semiquincentennial!

Also known as Freedom Day, the holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, the date Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and delivered General Order No. 3 announcing the end of legalized slavery in Texas (The Library of Congress).
