We are excited to partner with NTID Performing Arts by kicking off the weekend with Treasures from the Collection: Celebrating a Quarter Century of the Dyer Reception on October 16th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by Stories in Motion: A Storytelling Performance with Dack Virnig from 7:00 to 8:30 pm! NTID Performing Arts is partnering with the NTID Dyer Arts Center to present an exciting lineup of events. Join us as the NTID Dyer Arts Center celebrates its 25th Anniversary. Explore all three exhibitions, connect with the Dyer community, and enjoy special performances by NTID students at 4:30 p.m.

Then, at 7:00 p.m., NTID Performing Arts is proud to present acclaimed Visual Vernacular performer Dack Virnig. An ASL interpreter will be provided.

Judy McClain-Lowrie, SVP '69, created an artwork featuring the RIT/NTID and the Tiger mascot, using crayons she collected during NTID's 50th reunion, and donated it to NTID. Today, she stopped by NTID and saw her work displayed on The Street! 🙌🎨

Deaf Women of Rochester: 45 Years of Herstory is now on display in the Glass Room!

For 45 years, Deaf Women of Rochester (DWR) has empowered, connected, and celebrated Deaf women through leadership, advocacy, education, friendship, and community. This exhibit honors the women whose vision, dedication, and resilience built a lasting legacy while inspiring future generations. Explore photographs, memorabilia, milestones, and personal stories that preserve DWR's rich history and celebrate the remarkable journey of Deaf women in Rochester.

The wait is over! Exhibition #2: ✅

Treasures from the Collection, Celebrating a Quarter Century of the Dyer Arts Center, is now open!

As the Dyer Arts Center celebrates its 25th anniversary, Treasures from the Collection offers a glimpse into a collection that carries a much longer history. The collection spans approximately 100 years of Deaf history, from its oldest work, dated 1926, to its most recent work, made in 2021. Selected from approximately 1,800 artworks, the exhibition reflects Deaf life, creativity, change, and continuity across generations.

Special thanks to the curators, Leticia Arellano, Marissa Woodruff, Rob Roth, and Tabitha Jacques, for making the exhibit happen!

The exhibition runs until December 18th, Monday-Friday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

I know we’ve been a little quiet lately, but we’ve been busy preparing and installing two new exhibitions over the past few weeks! The wait is almost over. Both exhibitions open tomorrow and will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stay tuned for more details about the exhibitions. We can’t wait to welcome you!
