Today, RMS alumni from the high school Class of 2026 returned to Rochester Montessori School for a special cap-and-gown walk through campus. 🎓

Graduating seniors visited classrooms, reconnected with guides, shared memories, and spent time with younger students who were excited to meet them and hear about their experiences. From hugs in the hallways to conversations across age levels, the day was filled with meaningful full-circle moments.

Watching these graduates return reminded us of the lasting impact of a small, connected community and an education that supports children from toddler through middle school, preparing them for the journeys ahead. We are incredibly proud of each of these students and grateful they came back to share this milestone with us.

💡 Hands-on learning, design thinking, and real-world problem solving — it’s all part of Middle School at RMS.

Students are exploring flight, force, and motion through an IB Design + Engineering unit, where they’re building and testing model rockets. They begin by modifying a pre-existing design and observing how changes affect flight, and then apply their findings to create and launch rockets of their own design. 🚀

This process — design, test, redesign — reflects the best of the Middle School at RMS experience: inquiry-driven learning, reflection, and creativity, rooted in both Montessori education and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).

At RMS, adolescents don’t just learn about science — they practice innovation, collaborate meaningfully, and grow into confident, curious thinkers ready to take on new challenges. 🌿

Our RMS community came together to celebrate the International Day of Peace.

💫 Continuing a beloved tradition, our students gathered to sing “Light a Candle for Peace” — performed in English, Spanish, Chinese, and ASL. Students not only led the song but also accompanied on instruments, filling our assembly with unity and hope.

Each child and staff member also decorated a paper dove 🕊️, symbolizing our shared commitment to peace within our classrooms, our community, and the world.

At RMS, Montessori education encourages children to be peacemakers — nurturing respect for self, others, and the environment. 💚
