August is National Wellness Month! 🧠✨
Healthy Campus identifies five areas of well-being that we should prioritize during August and every month. The areas include physical, social, environmental, mental, and financial well-being. Our brain buddies give some tips on how to positively impacts certain areas like physical, social, and financial. Below offers a quick explanation on why these five areas are important!
Physical - By taking care of your body, you’re also nurturing your brain’s ability to learn, retain, and innovate. And while the brain gets a boost, the body gets stronger which can reduce chronic diseases. 💪
Social - Creating a sense of community and belonging helps ease loneliness, can improve academics, and inspires growth by learning about new through diverse relationships. Build connections, join clubs, volunteer, and more to improve social wellness. 🧑🤝🧑
Environmental - Being environmentally well goes beyond sustainability. While very important, creating spaces where we feel safe and supported is integral to thriving in the workplace, school, or even at home. 🪴
Mental - More than mental illness, mental wellness is an aver-changing spectrum of feelings and thoughts that is important to monitor at all times. Knowing the resources available to you is an amazing first step. 💭
Financial - Investing in financial literacy means creating a strong foundation built on better money management, long-term goals, and knowing what to and what not to look for in things like loans. 💰
