Coming in the Fall of 2018... 4-H UNITY! 4-H UNITY stands for Urban Neighborhoods Improved Through Youth. 4-H UNITY will be a program similar to CITIZEN U and the Monroe County Cornell Cooperative Extension staff can't wait to start! Stay tuned as this new program unfolds.

4-H gives youth the power to be themselves and make a difference. It's a caring community that allows youth to achieve their goals. Consider volunteering for 4-H today!

Monroe County 4-H is not currently running the Citizen U program; however, as opportunities become available, we will consider running the program again. Stay tuned!

True leader Malik (pictured here at the 2015 Citizen U graduation with Jamila Simon, State 4-H Civic Engagement Program Specialist, and Michele Aman, Citizen U Coordinator) recently commented on his experience with Citizen U: "One thing that CITIZEN U helped me with was in becoming more of a leader by showing me how to speak out more.... It also provided me with experience in the workplace by providing a summer job/internship at Rochester Teen Court and [showed me] how to make connections by going on many trips in the community and to different 4-H events around New York."

Right now CITIZEN U is representing at 4-H Career Explorations at Cornell University - and having a blast!

CITIZEN U spread nutrition knowledge related to sugary drinks and fatty fast foods at the Rochester Public Market before making a fun trip to the National Museum of Play!

Rochester City youth, have you heard of the FREE Champion Academy Mentoring & Empowerment Program? We at CITIZEN U just heard about it yesterday and are excited to share it with you because it looks like an AMAZING program.

Unfortunately, the application deadline was Monday, but you can always try applying! If that doesn't work, put it in your phone's calendar to remind you to apply next May/June.
