Celebrated Bagpipe Appreciation Day earlier this week with a lively and inquisitive group. We had fun with some bagpipes and tunes from Scotland, Brittany, Galicia, Italy, and Ireland.
Thanks to Lindsay for asking me to be a part of their learning program. I had a great time and ran into a piping friend from years ago. He shared a story about his learning to play the pipes and first performing with the Carnegie Mellon University (Carnegie Tech) Pipe Band in 1948. Great stuff!!

Haven’t posted in a while - had to take a short break from playing. Will be back at it soon. New posts coming, too. In the meantime, here’s another warmup shot on a country road from earlier this year - waiting to surprise a bride and groom. Piping is fun in all kinds of places.

Had a really fun and emotional week playing at events for both family and dear friends including a surprise Birthday Parade, and separately, a story filled memorial tribute. And I am incredibly appreciative of all the other wonderful musicians who participated.
