Tyler Mahan is leaving RIT with more than just a degree.
As Captain of the RIT Men’s Hockey team, Tyler balanced a demanding D1 schedule with a triple-focus in finance, accounting, and communication. Between 134 career games and leading the Tigers to an Atlantic Hockey title, he also excelled in the classroom as a four-time All-American Scholar and summa cm laude graduate.
Tyler’s impact extends far beyond the ice. A 2026 Hockey Humanitarian Award nominee, he co-founded an organization to provide gear for young athletes and served as a dedicated mentor in the Rochester community.
Now, after a standout co-op performance at Deloitte, he’s weighing professional hockey offers in North America and Europe against a career in finance. Whatever path Tyler chooses, he leaves RIT having mastered the balance of leadership, integrity, and academic excellence.
Congratulations, Tyler!
