🎨For Michael Ross, CAS '03, art has been more than a passion, it has been a lifelong journey and a career. After earning degrees in Anthropology and Studio Art from Oakland University in 2003, Mike has spent the past decade building a career as an artist, muralist, curator and advocate for the arts.
Today, Mike serves as the director and lead curator of the Annex Gallery at the 333 Midland arts center in Highland Park, where he has spent the past six years creating opportunities for artists and showcasing the incredible diversity of work being created throughout the Detroit area. Mike is a muralist and loves the work of Detroit's City Walls program, which creates opportunities for artists in the Detroit area.🖌
📻During his time at OU, Mike was heavily involved with the radio station, WXOU, serving as program director and general manager while hosting several radio shows over more than a decade. The friendships, experiences and creative opportunities found at Oakland continue to be a meaningful part of his story.
From painting and murals to curating and supporting fellow artists, Mike continues to use his creativity to strengthen Michigan's vibrant arts community.
