📚 A campus landmark. A lifetime of learning.

Since opening in 1961, Kresge Library has welcomed generations of Golden Grizzlies in search of knowledge, inspiration and connection.

Originally built to house more than 200,000 volumes, the library has grown alongside Oakland University, evolving into a dynamic academic hub with research support, collaborative spaces, technology and millions of print and digital resources.

Made possible in part through support from the Kresge Foundation, Kresge Library was the third building constructed on OU's campus and stands as a lasting reminder that investing in education creates opportunities that extend far beyond a single generation.

That legacy continues today through the generosity of alumni and donors who help expand opportunities for students, including the recently established Library of Things, which provides practical resources to support student success both inside and outside the classroom.

Whether you spent hours studying in the stacks, met classmates between classes or discovered your next big idea inside its walls, Kresge Library has been part of countless OU journeys.

💚 What's your favorite Kresge Library memory?
