Yesterday’s ROC the Block was a great success! We always loving tabling these events, and we had a great time speaking with our community members about our adult learning programs and services. Shoutout to our community partners and agencies we got to see, too!

And we’re back! Summer school at OACES started today. If you didn’t register for summer school today, you can visit us tomorrow from 9am to 1pm for enrollment. Tomorrow will be the LAST DAY to register for summer school. Let’s do this!

YAY! We are now closed for the next week! We will return for summer school on Monday, July 6th. See you then!

It’s the last day of school for OACES! 🥹 On Tuesday we celebrated our students, staff, and community partners at the beach. We are SO proud of everyone for all their accomplishments over the last year, which has been so difficult for many of us. Congratulations to everyone, and we’ll see some of you when summer school starts on July 6th! 😎🌞🍉🌻🎓

Pictures from our field trip to the Erie Canal a few weeks ago! Students and staff had the opportunity to ride the Sam Patch, a replica of a historical boat named after a famous local figure. We rode through two different locks on the canal and learned all about how they work! Thanks to Rochester By Water for this awesome and educational adventure!

On Monday, we had the incredible opportunity to attend the grand opening of the newly renovated Maplewood Community Library! This library is one of our Literacy Zone Welcome Centers and a key community partner of OACES. We are so proud of the Maplewood staff for all the hard work they’ve put in to make these renovations happen, and we heard from local politicians about all the work it took to accomplish this vision. Congratulations, Maplewood Library! Visit them and check out the new space!

TOMORROW! We're so excited to participate again in this year's City of Rochester, NY's ROC the Block Employment and Resource Community Fairs. Come visit us at Paul Bianchi Park from 11am to 2pm and learn about our adult education programs and services! See you there!

Monday shoutout to our amazing Culinary cohort! Not only does this group make lunch for our entire school everyday, but they also partner with local community organizations! Check out this delicious cookie spread they made for an upcoming Rochester City School District celebration with the Rochester Public Library. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳🍪

Thanks to all of the amazing nursing students from URMC who participated in our Literacy Zone Health Fair yesterday! OACES students learned about blood pressure, emergencies, ergonomics, and dental care. We are so grateful for this incredible partnership with University of Rochester School of Nursing and all the important work they do. Thank you!

Wednesday was a perfect day for our field trip to the Rochester Red Wings game! We had a blast at the baseball stadium for Education Day. Woohoo!
