Wednesday was a perfect day for our field trip to the Rochester Red Wings game! We had a blast at the baseball stadium for Education Day. Woohoo!

Today we are saying goodbye to three of our amazing staff members as they all move on to new jobs: Maria, Sharon, and Porfirio. Thank you three for all the important work you did for OACES! We will miss you so much and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

We are so proud of our GED student, Negineh Safi, for her NYACCE Student of the Year Award! In Albany last week, Negineh was recognized for her achievements during an award dinner with other student winners from around the state. Negineh was chosen for this honor because of her hard work, perseverance, and dedication. We can’t stop thinking about it! Congratulations again, Negineh!

Come visit OACES at two of our Literacy Zone Welcome Centers next week for our annual Health Information Pop-Ups! We'll be at Maplewood Community Library on Tuesday the 12th and Phillis Wheatley Branch Library on Wednesday the 13th. We'll be joined by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, University of Rochester Medicine, Monroe County Health Department, and Foodlink. See you there!

Congratulations to our students who graduated from our Project Ride last week! Project Ride is a program at Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Rochester that helps community members overcome transportation barriers through a four-week education program. OACES students with high attendance were chosen to participate in this course. Congratulations to them on their hard work!
