The Federation of Social Workers is proud to announce that the 2023 winners of the Ed Grabowski/Dina Finn Memorial Scholarships are Mary Evans and Steven Simmons! 😁

Mary Evans is a recent graduate of Greece Arcadia High School who is now attending Allegheny College. Mary is the daughter of FSW member Jillian Evans.

Steven Simmons is a recent graduate of Rochester Early College High School who is now attending the Rochester Institute of Technology. Steven is the son of FSW member LaSonia Simmons.

We wish both Mary and Steven great academic and career success in the future! 🗞🎓

Scholarship Main The Gates Scholarship

Fisher will be hosting the RCSD summer school for the second summer. Students will be on campus July 5th-August 15th.

This summer there will be 250 upcoming 9th and 10th graders who are working on either credit recovery or acceleration credits (taking classes to get ahead) on campus all day.

We are inviting educators to provide enrichment courses on topics of their choosing.

The enrichment sections will be every day from 11:10-12:25. During that time frame there will be two 35-minute sessions with twenty students each. The first session will be from 11:10-11:45am and the second wil be from 11:50-12:25pm. Instructors can prepare one lesson for both sessions.

You will be guaranteed 20 students in a class with RCSD teachers in the classes for support. We want these courses to be hands on/interactive/discussion based. There are funds available from RCSD to support the purchasing of materials (if needed) for your lesson.

If you are interested in signing up or have questions about scheduling, please contact Kayla Wickham ([email protected]) with the title of your lesson, your name, and a brief description of your lesson. For planning purposes, please sign up by June 1, 2023. Thank you for your support in this university-wide endeavor.
