We’re proud to highlight Abram, Class of 2025, whose journey is a true example of growth and determination.

After graduating from Sharp Edgez Barber Institute in January 2026 as their “Most Improved Student,” Abram has continued to build momentum—recently earning his New York State barbering certification. He is working at Palmyra Barber Company and is developing a mobile barbering business, Mirror Madness, which will bring quality grooming services directly to group homes and special needs facilities. It’s all about expanding access and creating meaningful connections through his work. Final details are in the works but stay tuned for the official launch.

We’re excited to see where his passion and purpose take him next. Congratulations, Abram!

📣Alumni Update: Richard Deverell, Class of 2005

Richard received his second master’s degree in Information and Library Science from University at Buffalo in February 2024 and was married in December 2024—two incredible milestones in one year!

He recently began work as the Public Services Librarian for the Clarksville Branch of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library in Indiana.

Through his work, he attended the Indiana Library Federation conference in Indianapolis in November 2025 where he networked with other librarians and met Jeopardy! champion, Adriana Harmeyer. His work includes patron assistance as well as program and collection development.

He published an article based on a chapter from his PhD dissertation in the November 2025 issue of the open-access journal Mise au Point (https://journals.openedition.org/map/8205).

Richard shared, "My work enables me to serve the public while affording the opportunity to both professionally and personally develop."

Congratulations to Richard on these outstanding accomplishments and continued success!
