Franklin is a unique school that offers both a K-5 Neighborhood Program and a K-5, district-wide Public Montessori Program. The Franklin school community is enhanced by the richness of its diverse student population. The committed staff, students and parents at Franklin continue to build an academic program of excellence, focusing on the development of strong reading, writing and math skills in al
l students. Specialized academic support is provided through small group reading/math support, special education, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Extended Day kindergarten, After School Academy and summer school programming. Parents are a valued part of providing a quality education to our students. Parents are encouraged to be involved in PTSA, ViE (Volunteers in Education) and school-wide family events.

Join Rochester Public Schools at our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Mixer for an evening of community, conversation, and connection as we prepare to launch American Sign Language (ASL) at our high schools in the 2026-2027 school year.
Come meet ASL teachers and district staff, learn more about our ASL program, and share ideas, perspectives, and community voice. This event is open-house style, and light refreshments will be provided.
