Rochester Engineering Society We represent thousands of engineers. Many engineers also hold individual membership in the Society. RES is a 501(c)3 organization.

RES programs and services are dedicated to enhancing the profession and the community, while encouraging the growth and development of engineers and scientists for the future. RES has Affiliates that are local chapters of national and international engineering associations, and Corporate Members--major engineering firms and engineering schools at the university level.

RES invites you to our upcoming Lunch & Learn Zoom session, “Three Mile Island: Past, Present & Future,” on September 17 from 12:00PM-1:00PM via Zoom.

Presented by David J. Allard, MS, CHP, FHPS, Chairperson of the TMI Unit-2 Citizens Advisory Panel and retired Director of the PA DEP Bureau of Radiation Protection, this presentation will examine the 1979 Three Mile Island Unit-2 accident, including its impact on public health and the surrounding community. The session will also explore the future of nuclear power, including Unit-1’s planned restart, nuclear waste, environmental monitoring, and evolving regulations.
