Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Radiology Imaging Programs Open House in Rochester! It was exciting to welcome prospective students, families and advisers to campus to learn more about careers and educational opportunities in MRI, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiography and Sonography.

From touring learning spaces and meeting faculty and current students to getting a closer look at our programs, we hope everyone left inspired by the possibilities a career in medical imaging can offer.

🎉 Celebrating community, connection and a new year in the MRI Program!

Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences MRI Program Medical Director Eric Ehman, M.D., and his wife, Emily Levy, M.D., recently welcomed students, faculty and program alumni into their home for the annual MRI Program Welcome BBQ.

The gathering has become a special tradition welcoming our newest students while bringing together members of the MRI community to share experiences, build relationships and strengthen connections across cohorts.

We’re grateful to Drs. Ehman and Levy for continuing this tradition and to our alumni who return to stay connected and support the students following in their footsteps. ❤️

It’s a wonderful reminder that the MRI Program experience extends beyond the classroom to the community and relationships built along the way.

📸✨ The best way to explore campus? A photo hunt!

Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences senior and junior Sonography Program students in Florida recently teamed up for the program’s first annual Photo Hunt, combining campus exploration with connection and preparation for clinical rotations.

Senior students guided their junior classmates through campus landmarks and clinical rotation locations, sharing their experiences and helping them become more familiar with the spaces they’ll encounter during training.

Along the way, students had the opportunity to connect across cohorts, learn from one another and have some fun while preparing for the clinical experiences ahead!

🏆 Locked in. Focused. ESCAPED. 🔐⚛️

Our Nuclear Medicine Technology students recently put their knowledge to the test in a fast-paced Escape Room Challenge that combined math, stats, and nuclear physics.

From deciphering clues and solving calculations to unlocking the final challenge, students worked collaboratively to navigate a series of puzzles designed to reinforce key Nuclear Medicine concepts while strengthening communication and problem-solving skills.

Experiential learning activities like these provide opportunities for students to apply classroom knowledge in creative, engaging, and team-based environments that mirror the collaboration required in healthcare.

Congratulations to our winning teams and to all participants for demonstrating outstanding teamwork, perseverance, and dedication throughout the challenge! 🏆

🎉 Welcome to the Sonography Class of 2028!

This year marks an exciting milestone for the program, with 18 students across two Mayo Clinic campuses, 14 in Rochester and four in Jacksonville.

We’re excited to welcome our newest students as they begin their sonography education and look forward to watching them learn, grow and build connections throughout their training.

Wishing the Class of 2028 a great start and a successful journey ahead! 👏

Classrooms, labs, clinical rotations, exams.

What started as a goal became a journey, and now it's a profession.

Recently, we celebrated our Florida Radiography graduates as they take the next step from student to healthcare professional. The work they will do may happen behind the scenes, but its impact on patient care will be felt every day. Along with the celebration of the students, this was a milestone in the program for the largest cohort since the program began- 15 students!

Congratulations on reaching this milestone and welcome to the profession! 🎉

One summer program helped her discover her future in Nuclear Medicine.

Before participating in Mayo Clinic's Career Immersion Program, Ilhaam Mohamed knew about only a handful of healthcare professions. Through the program, she explored a variety of careers and gained a deeper understanding of the many ways healthcare teams contribute to patient care.

Sessions focused on Nuclear Medicine and physical therapy captured her attention, introducing her to fields she had not previously considered. The experience ultimately inspired her to pursue Nuclear Medicine as a career.

To prepare for that future, Ilhaam gained clinical experience through phlebotomy and continued building the skills needed to work with patients. This fall, she will begin Mayo Clinic's Nuclear Medicine Program.

Her story demonstrates how pathways programs help learners explore possibilities, discover interests and take meaningful steps toward healthcare careers.

On August 14, Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Nuclear Medicine Technology Program celebrates the Class of 2026 and a half-century of excellence in nuclear medicine education. From three students in our first cohort (1976) to 14 in our 50th, what a journey!
