IIE brings together URMC’s educational leaders to integrate technology and the science of learning into existing educational programming.

Responding to changing demands on education throughout the healthcare profession, URMC has created the Center for Experiential Learning (CEL)—a resource aimed at both improving the way professionals are taught throughout their careers, and supporting innovative educational programs for the entire Medical Center campus.

Registration is now available for the 24th Annual Diabetes Conference on Saturday, March 25, 2023!! This year's focus is Diabetes Management: Beyond Glycemia and includes talks on designing the most effective exercise routines for patients with diabetes, treating diabetic patients with eating disorders, healthcare disparities that prevent effective treatment within diabetes and avoiding or overcoming therapeutic inertia. Anandibai Joshee, who became India’s first female physician, announced her intention to study medicine in the United States on February 24. 1883. Dr. Joshee attended Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania with a focus in gynecology and obstetrics, graduating in 1886.

62 of our current medical students were born outside of the United States. We are proud to have all of you here learning to be the best doctors you can be for your communities.

Exciting updates from our Simulation Department! Our leader, Dr. Kimberly Buholtz had 2 presentations accepted to the International Meeting of Simulation in Healthcare! In addition to giving her presentations, she spent four days learning about recent innovations in healthcare science and is looking forward to incorporating these into our curriculum. Join us in congratulating Dr. Buholtz on this momentous achievement!

25th Annual Asthma and Allergy Update is in full swing,  today, 11.18.21

This hybrid event is extremely well attended in person and online. The exhibitors are happy to be back in person. 

This is the CEL's' first hybrid event. Run by the events and certification team; Amanda Gibson, Daniela Elliott, Joshua Skolnik, Eileen Spezio, Helina Kebede and Shreya Thakar had all hands on deck.  This is truly a special 25th year! 11/18/2021
