Graphic design student Kadin Price, an intern with OU Eats, illustrated the graphics and helped create the visual identity for Oso Café, a new campus coffee shop opening in the Oakland Center.

From its woodland-inspired artwork and bear mascot to its warm, welcoming aesthetic, the project gave Price the opportunity to apply what he has learned in the classroom to a permanent campus space. 🎨☕️ https://bit.ly/4zo6764

Oakland University students who are making a difference on campus and in their communities are invited to apply for the 2027 Keeper of the Dream Scholarship Awards.

Scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 are available to students who have demonstrated strong citizenship, scholarship and leadership in breaking down cultural stereotypes and promoting in*******al understanding.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and are available online at oakland.edu/cmi/KOD.

The Keeper of the Dream Award was established in January 1993 to recognize Oakland University students who have contributed to in*******al understanding and good will.

The Lowry Center for Early Childhood Education is partnering with Oakland Schools to implement a Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) classroom for the 2026–27 program year! 🖍️

GSRP is Michigan’s free pre-K program for eligible four-year-old children. The new classroom will expand access to high-quality early childhood education for families in the surrounding community while creating new hands-on learning opportunities for Oakland University students preparing for careers in early childhood education and related fields.

The GSRP classroom will serve up to 20 children during the upcoming school year, with before- and after-care options available. 🧸

That’s the idea behind MI College Match. Participating Michigan high school students will create a profile highlighting their interests, college preferences and academic achievements. Oakland University is among the participating institutions that may extend admission and scholarship opportunities through the platform.

The platform opens on Aug. 26.
