HUGE congratulations to MAPP alum, Julecya, on officially reaching Journeyman Ironworker status! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 This milestone represents years of hard work, sacrifice, discipline, and determination. We are so proud to see her thriving in the trades. "My name is Julecya, and as of May 2026, I officially became a Journeyman Ironworker with Local 33. I went through the MAPP program in the spring of 2022, where I was introduced to all the trades. MAPP taught me a lot of knowledge about hand tools, history, and more. We did a lot of hands-on work, including demoing a house in the City of Rochester, and overall, MAPP taught me discipline. I want to thank Kereem and his team for creating an opportunity for myself and others." MAPP is committed to creating pathways to sustainable careers, economic mobility, and long-term success in the skilled trades. Seeing our alumni reach milestones like this is exactly why we do this work. Congratulations again on this incredible achievement, Julecya! Your journey is inspiring the next generation to believe that they can do it too! ❤️ Julecya Janai

We are honored to see the work of the Multi-Craft Apprenticeship Preparation Program highlighted by Spectrum News.

What we’re building at MAPP is simple but powerful: real opportunities, real skills, and real career pathways into the skilled trades.

Every day, we take individuals with little to no experience and equip them with hands-on training, mentorship, and direct entry into union apprenticeships. The result is more than job placement. It is long-term stability, financial growth, and generational impact.

With our new training center at 46 Joseph Avenue in Rochester and our Albany location at 29 Broad Street, we are expanding our reach and creating even more access points for individuals ready to enter the trades.

The demand for skilled trades is not slowing down. The workforce is evolving, and MAPP is proud to be a model for preparing people the right way.

We are about building futures, strengthening communities, and redefining what opportunity looks like.

We are just getting started.

We are thrilled to announce that Kereem Berry, Executive Director at MAPP, was recognized in New York City yesterday and has been awarded the Innovation in Workforce Development Award by U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand!

Along with this remarkable honor, Kereem received an official proclamation that further emphasized the significance of MAPP’s work within the community.

This achievement showcases the transformative efforts at MAPP, where we focus on creating career pathways, overcoming barriers, and fostering genuine opportunities for individuals in our community.

We believe that workforce development transcends mere training; it’s about transforming lives, empowering families, and uplifting entire communities. This recognition highlights the strength of that mission and the collaborative effort driving it forward.

We remain committed, inspired, and ready to continue building! ❤️🖤💚

Last night’s Rochester Tradeswomen Dinner illustrated why our mission at MAPP matters. Three women alumni were present, who are now carpenters, ironworkers, and sheet metal workers, demonstrating how MAPP helps build careers, foster economic independence, and advance women’s representation in the trades.

Moments like these continue to validate our transformative work at MAPP. Our program changes lives, and these women are just a few of the many MAPP graduates now building strong futures for themselves and their families.

It was also great to see leadership in the trades supporting women in the trades, including the President of the Rochester Building Trades (Ray) and Organizer (Vinny) from IBEW Local 86.

MAPP helps men and women in our community prepare for careers in the trades, because when preparation meets opportunity, lives change! ❤️🖤💚
