MAPP offers an introduction to and entry into a real construction trades, career-track apprenticeship M.A.P.P., Inc.

The Multi-Craft Apprenticeship Preparation Program is Rochester, New York’s premier organization designed to increase the number of “minority” craft-persons in the Construction and Building Trades workforce. partners with the local Rochester Building & Construction Trades Council, and the various local Organized Construction Labor Unions in our work. Our MAPP participants visited the Bricklayers Local 3 for an exciting hands-on learning experience that gave them a closer look at the skill, precision, and craftsmanship behind the trade.

Participants put their skills to the test while learning the technique, speed, and accuracy required to lay brick properly. They also explored the creative side of the trade and how bricklaying is an art form, seeing how different brick sizes, patterns, styles, and designs come together to create beautiful, lasting structures.

Experiences like this let our participants see the possibilities in the skilled trades while gaining firsthand exposure to the craftsmanship that turns materials into something meaningful.

Today, we took the time to surprise MAPP’s Executive Director, Kereem Berry, for his birthday🥳🎉🎈Even though he may not be big on celebrating his own birthday, we wanted to make sure he felt the love and knew how much we appreciated him!

Kereem is a leader who not only cares for the community but has also consistently shown up for it. He supports, encourages, challenges, and constantly uplifts our folks.

Today, we celebrate more than his birthday. We celebrate the amazing individual, servant leader, and heart-centered person that he is.

MAPP participants and staff, alongside Executive Director Kereem Berry, put service into action on Hudson Avenue, walking from Central Avenue to Norton Street and removing an estimated 300 pounds of trash from the sidewalks and roadway.

Block by block, our participants showed that leadership is about action, responsibility, teamwork, and giving back. Hudson Avenue is part of the community we serve, and we believe every neighborhood deserves to reflect pride, dignity, and care.

At MAPP, we’re building careers and developing leaders who are committed to strengthening their communities.
