We are a Community Music School affiliated with the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester. We offer private lessons in a wide range of instruments (both classical and jazz) and voice. We also have various ensembles of all sizes and offer classes in music theory, history, world music, music technology and other topics. We have programs for children as young as 4 months (Early Childhood), through preschool, elementary, high school and to adults both young and young at heart (New Horizons)

TRAFFIC ALERT for this afternoon and evening: is presenting its free Circus in the City shows on Gibbs Street Friday and Saturday. (Pictured: 3AM Theatre performs at 5:15 p.m.) Allow extra time for parking if you're coming down to ECMS for lessons, classes, or ensembles.

Also, don't miss .musicanova (Musica Nova) and the Eastman Percussion Ensemble in a FREE all-Steve Reich concert this evening, Friday, at 7:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall. The concert, part of Fringe, celebrates the minimalist pioneer's 90th birthday. Hear seminal works, led by Eastman's Brad Lubman and Michael Burritt.

Did you know that June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month? 💜 Did you also know that the Eastman Community Music School has an intergenerational, dementia-friendly ensemble called ENCORE Chorus?!

We are so proud of this group. When the ENCORE Chorus comes together, something remarkable happens. Voices rise together, melodies take shape, and the room fills with a feeling of mutual joy. This is not just the pursuit of perfection, but a celebration of presence.
