EBNS is a cooperative nursery school and kindergarten offering Rochester area families a unique educational experience since 1974!

EBNS is a unique, play-based program focusing on whole child development through imaginative play, purposeful activity, the arts, storytelling, and exploration of the natural world. We offer cooperative nursery school classes for 3 to 4-year-olds, 4 to 5-year-olds, and a semi-cooperative KinderGarden class for 5 to 6-year-olds in a multi-age educational setting.

The classroom was all ready for our first day of Kinder on Friday! We made pancakes, art, and new friends on a beautiful golden late summer day. Welcome back to school everyone!

"Crafter Dark", an off-shoot of our "Crafternoons" program for children, is an adults-only evening of crafts and community for parents of of current or former students, or anyone interested in fellowship and learning something new.

This is an opportunity to connect with others while we craft seasonal and Waldorf-inspired handmade creations together. Our first craft will be these adorable autumn leaf peg doll babies.

The class fee covers all materials, tools, patterns, and instruction for the craft, and you'll depart the class with a beautiful finished product, and maybe a new friend or two.

Afternoons with Sue is back for the 2026-27 school year! The application is open now.

Afternoons with Sue is a secular, waldorf-inspired homeschool supplement program where the students help guide the curriculum with their interests. Children participate in science exploration, hamd-crafts, nature study, wood-working, and more!
