Parkminster Preschool

We are ready for our "buy nothing" event on Saturday from 9-2pm. We will open our doors at 9, not earlier. We have lots of books if you are looking to grow your library. Please spread the word to anyone you think might be interested in coming!

On Saturday August 27th from 9-2 pm, we will be having a "buy nothing" event open to anyone in the community. We are looking to clear out what is remaining in our classrooms and want to offer them for free to anyone who could use them. We have lots of books, puzzles, games, craft supplies, stuffed animals, classroom materials, toys, some furniture and more. Please share with anyone you think might be interested. See you on Saturday!

This week is the last week of school for Parkminster Preschool. Our hearts are breaking but we also feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of this community for 53 years. We are grateful to the faithful people of Parkminster Church who decided years ago to create this school with the simple premise of being a place that let children explore the world through play. We are grateful for the countless teachers, directors, assistants and committee members who have lovingly served this preschool over the years. We are grateful for the many, many families who have entrusted their children to our care. It has been such a profound privilege. We are grateful to God for giving us all we have needed over the years and for now giving us all that we need as we say goodbye. And we are grateful to all of the little ones who have been a part of our school over all these years. They have given us endless joy and taught us just as much as we have taught them.

It is with a very heavy heart we announce that Parkminster Preschool will be closing at the end of the 2021/2022 year.
There are not words enough to express the gratitude we feel to the families that have been a part of our preschool program over the years.

I think that one of the preschool's first teachers, Sue Fuhrman, said it best: "We need to keep in mind, as hard as it is to say good-by,------the school and anyone who ever served there on committee or classroom----provided thousands of little people at 3, 4, and 5 to grow and become all that they could and should be at those ages. I am sure that as adults, imprinted on their hearts is the love that was given in acceptance of who each of them was. as Jan used to say----We did not mold them, but we helped to unfold them. And of course, there is in our hearts all that each one of them gave back to us with their truth, their innocence, their giving spirit, their warmth of a child’s love and their trust. It was a privilege for us to be able to have their families want us to work alongside of them in helping to nurture their children"

So, if you have been a staff member, a student, a parent or committee member of Parkminster Preschool, your imprint has been felt and it will never be forgotten. Thank you all.

Next up: our 3- Day Class are having a rootin', tootin' hoedown with their Dads tonight!

Parkminster Preschool Open House for the 2021/2022 school year today from 10-2 pm.

Parkminster Preschool will be holding an Open House on Saturday from 10-2pm. We are reopening for the 2021-2022 school year and still have spots available in all classes. If you are looking for a preschool program for the fall, please feel free to stop by. Teachers will be available to answer questions and talk about the program.
