SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA EMS REGIONAL PROGRAM

06/18/2026

👉This project is another example of how Opioid Settlement Funding is being invested directly back into our communities to create meaningful change.

👉By supporting first responders with the training, equipment, and resources needed to respond to substance use emergencies, we are strengthening our ability to save lives, support recovery, and reduce the devastating impact of addiction.

👉These investments not only improve emergency response capabilities but also demonstrate our collective commitment to addressing the opioid crisis and assisting in the ongoing fight against substance abuse.

👉Through collaboration, education, prevention, and treatment-focused initiatives, we are helping build healthier, safer, and more resilient communities for future generations.

JUNE 15, 2026- RUSHFORD, MN

👶Tonight we celebrated the pre-hospital delivery, of a healthy baby boy, and recognized those members of the Rushford Ambulance team that remained headstrong and welcomed the newborn to the world!

In rural communities, where distances to obstetrical services may be significant, the role of EMS in out-of-hospital births becomes even more important. The ability of EMS clinicians to deliver competent, compassionate pre-hospital obstetrical care ensures that mothers and newborns receive immediate medical attention until they can be safely transferred to definitive care.

When babies arrive before reaching the hospital, EMS providers become the first healthcare team to welcome them into the world. Their preparedness, clinical expertise, and ability to remain composed under pressure help transform an unexpected emergency into a safe beginning for both mother and child.

🗣If your services would like to submit providers for recognition from the Regional Program, submissions and criteria can be found here:

JUNE 2, 2026- SPRING VALLEY, MN

We had the privilege of presenting new lifesaving equipment to the Wykoff First Responders and Ostrander First Responders, made possible through Fillmore County Opioid Settlement funding. This investment reflects Fillmore County's commitment to strengthening emergency response capabilities and ensuring that rural first responders have the tools they need to provide timely, high-quality care when every second counts.

The opioid crisis continues to impact communities of all sizes, and these funds are being used to improve outcomes for those experiencing overdose and other medical emergencies. By equipping local responders with updated resources, we are enhancing their ability to save lives, support families in crisis, and serve their communities with confidence and compassion.

We are grateful to Fillmore County Board of Commissioners and Fillmore County Public Health for its partnership and to the dedicated volunteers of Wykoff and Ostrander who stand ready to answer the call, day and night, for their neighbors in need.
