Hey Everyone! This week we wanted to present a Student Spotlight! Ashutosh Sharma graduated from St. Francis Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Electronics and Telecommunication, and would later come to RIT to pursue a Masters in Manufacturing and Mechanical System Integration β Robotics. Listen to what he has to say on some of his past experiences!
I'm an international student from India, currently pursuing a master's in Manufacturing and Mechanical System Integration, majoring in Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Systems. I was working for Honeywell Intelligrated which is a Material Handling company as a Mechanical Project Engineer for 8 months. I was a part of the Distribution and Fulfillment department which caters to e-commerce companies and is responsible for creating Approval and Detailed layouts of the fulfillment centers containing a web of hundreds of conveyor belts in them. I was also a part of the commissioning team for a Target fulfillment center where my responsibilities included mechanical and electrical testing of conveyor belts. It was an amazing experience to actually go behind the scenes of an e-commerce operation and be an integral part of it. Unfortunately, the picture is photoshopped because the office was closed during Covid-19.
