Twice a week our students have a wellness class block. This year our Wellness Coordinator and Family Engagement Specialist, Ella French, has orchestrated our wellness curriculum to support their Social Emotional Learning.

This year, we had the privilege of working with three dedicated reading specialists who supported our students both inside and outside the classroom. Their efforts enhanced students' reading and writing comprehension, as well as their confidence. One parent shared a heartwarming testimony of their impact: “Now every night, she’s reading next to me on the couch.” The parent also noted that her daughter excitedly came home and told her grandfather about learning about emus from her book.

This Thursday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., we are excited to host our End of Summer Showcase! We warmly invite all families to join us for this special event. Our students have been diligently working on projects throughout the program, all centered around this year’s theme, "Summer Olympics: Around the World & Back Again." Come and see how they bring their learnings to life through a variety of creative media. We look forward to celebrating their hard work and achievements with you!

Yesterday, we had the wonderful opportunity to host .collective, who generously provided free art supplies for our students. With the wide range of materials available, the students created vibrant and imaginative collages using various media. A heartfelt thank you to the Free Art Collective for their collaboration and for continuing our students’ enrichment to their art experience!

Happy National Coloring Book Day! In celebration our 1st graders wanted to share with you their time coloring pictures of a character from the book they’re reading, Olympig! by Victoria Jamieson.

Throughout the program, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with the Rochester Latino Theater Company, who have worked with our students on an exciting play. Our students have explored various aspects of theater, including acting, dancing, singing, production, sound and lighting, props, and even had the chance to get headshots. A big thank you to for your incredible collaboration and dedication to our students!

This Friday all grades will be going on a field trip to Seneca Park Zoo. We will be outside for the entirety of the day again, so students should have with them a water bottle, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and if you would like a hat and/or sunglasses. Please ensure students are on time as the buses will be leaving at 9:30.
