A little piece of the farm came to campus this week! 🐥

Our Pre-K Birches friends had an unforgettable in-house field trip when Aniyah’s grandma “Nan” from Eggs'n Honey Homestead brought baby chicks, turkeys, and geese to our courtyard! Students learned how to gently care for the animals, asked thoughtful questions about farm life, and filled the morning with smiles, giggles, and happy chirping sounds.

A huge thank you to Nan, Cousin Hazel, and Aniyah’s dad for making this special experience possible!

We were thrilled to dedicate this year's AC yearbook to the incomparable Tina Duver 💙

A leader unlike any other, Tina brings humor, heart, compassion, and endless energy to every corner of AC. From Head of Middle School to Interim Head of Lower School, she does it all with a “can-do” attitude, unwavering support for students and colleagues, and a spirit that makes everyone around her better.

Whether she’s giving speeches with students, checking in with colleagues, helping middle schoolers navigate the ups and downs of growing up, or challenging students to rock/paper/scissors, Tina leads with authenticity, kindness, and care. She sees the best in every student and helps them see it in themselves, too.

This year’s yearbook dedication could not have gone to a more deserving person. Thank you, Tina, for the smiles, the laughs, the leadership, and the love you bring to our community every single day.

Our 4th Annual Symposium of Learning was an incredible celebration of authentic learning at AC. We were blown away by the depth of student work, the diversity of topics, and the thoughtful reflections shared throughout the day.

From capstones and BIRCHES projects to performances and diploma work, our students showcased curiosity, creativity, and resilience in inspiring ways. We are so proud of all they accomplished and grateful to the faculty who support and challenge them every step of the way. 💙

Teachers made their own spirit day called “anything but a cup” and surprised students by drinking from boots, watering cans, soy sauce containers, ties, fish bowls, beakers, boom whackers, maple syrup bottles, lanterns, teddy bears, and more!

Some of AC's 12th grade students spent the afternoon at Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester learning about animal care, community impact, and the many volunteer opportunities available throughout the organization.

From goats and horses to rabbits and dogs, students had the chance to connect, explore, and learn together — proving you’re never too old for a visit to the farm 🐐🐴🐰

Experiences like these help AC students build empathy, strengthen community connections, and discover meaningful ways to get involved beyond the classroom.
