The volunteer check-in and deployment schedules for Friday, July 10, 2026, are set for the following times: 9:00 a.m. – Initial Volunteer Briefing: Search teams will gather at 250 Maplewood Avenue (The Rose Garden at Maplewood Park) to receive quadrant assignments, maps, and safety protocols. 9:30 a.m. – Ground and Drone Launch: The first coordinated ground grids and volunteer drone sweeps will officially deploy to the trail sections. 1:00 p.m. – Midday Shift Check-in: A second briefing will take place at the staging area for afternoon volunteers who cannot make the morning launch. If you are planning to attend, organizers ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and be placed into a search group.

Staging Site Location Address: 250 Maplewood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14613 Arrival Time: Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. for the morning shift or 12:45 p.m. for the afternoon shift to ensure you are signed in before briefings begin. Quick Checklist for Volunteers Bring a fully charged cell phone and a portable power bank if you have one. Wear thick-soled boots or rugged sneakers, as the trail and riverbank areas are muddy and uneven. Dress in long pants and bring insect repellent for the heavily wooded brush sections.

Update (Wednesday, 7/8 @ 10:07AM): Zane is still missing. Mom is asking anyone with drones to help look in the area of El Camino Trail, Kodak area, Maplewood Park area, or to walk/drive the areas to help look for him.

If there are any businesses or residents in the area who have security cameras and could review the footage between 11:50PM last night on, and see anyone who resembles Zane, please reach out! He is 6’5”, 320 lbs., and only 14 years old. Please share and be on the lookout!

Rochester Police are looking for 14-year-old Zane Johnson last seen Monday on the El Camino Trail.

Hello School Without Walls families and community members!

We would like to inform you about an upcoming event next week. We will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive in the library from noon to 6PM.

Students and staff are welcome to donate during the first half of the drive. From 3PM to 6PM, appointments will open up to the community. As you may know, there is a critical national blood shortage, and we are doing our part to support the Red Cross.
