🚨 We’re adding a 12U boys team to VolleyFX!

Tryouts will be October 18 and 25 from 12:30–2:30 PM. We’ll have one team with up to 12 players.

Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30–8:00 PM, starting November 30. The season runs through May.

Athletes must have been born on or after July 1, 2014. Visit www.volleyfx.com/boystryout for tryout registration and season details!

🌸🏐 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE FLOWER CITY INVITE! 🏐🌸

After months of planning, countless conversations, and plenty of adjustments along the way, it was pretty special to finally see the Flower City Invite come to life this weekend.

A huge thank you to Syracuse University and Canisius University for believing in the vision for this event and making the trip to Rochester. From working with 150 young athletes at Saturday’s free clinic to competing on Sunday, both programs embraced what this weekend was really about: giving young athletes an opportunity to experience Division I volleyball up close and helping us continue to grow the game in Rochester.

Thank you to Rebecca Leclair for all of the work behind the scenes throughout the months of planning, and to Visit Rochester for their support in welcoming both programs to our city.

Thank you to the Rochester Red Wings for helping us kick off the excitement all the way back in June, giving the two head coaches the opportunity to throw out the first pitch and helping us announce the Flower City Invite to the Rochester community.

And when a last-minute venue change could have completely changed the weekend, Matt Cohen, the St. John Fisher Men’s Volleyball team, and St. John Fisher University stepped up without hesitation. Matt and his team helped us make the transition to Fisher and were there throughout the event helping us run it. We are incredibly appreciative of everyone at SJF Cardinals for opening their doors and helping us make sure the event could still be everything we envisioned.

Finally, thank you to the 150 kids who participated in the clinic, the families, coaches, athletes, volunteers, and everyone who came out and filled the gym on Sunday. Seeing so many people from our volleyball community together made all those months of planning worth it.

The Flower City Invite started with a simple idea: bring our volleyball community together, create opportunities for young athletes, and Grow the Game.

Thank you to everyone who helped turn that idea into a pretty special weekend for volleyball in Rochester. 🌸🏐

🌸🏐 150 ATHLETES. ONE AWESOME AFTERNOON OF VOLLEYBALL! 🏐🌸

A huge THANK YOU to all 150 young athletes who joined us today for our FREE Flower City Invite Youth Clinic!

It was incredible seeing so many 3rd–6th graders in the gym learning, having fun, and experiencing the game alongside Division I athletes and coaches.

A special thank you to Syracuse University and Canisius University for giving their time and energy to lead our young athletes through the clinic and help us continue to Grow the Game here in Rochester.

Now it’s time to watch them compete! Syracuse and Canisius face off Sunday at 1:00 PM at St. John Fisher University. Come out, pack the gym, and support Division I volleyball right here in Rochester!

🏐 THE FLOWER CITY INVITE IS THIS WEEKEND! 🏐

We’re excited to welcome Syracuse University and Canisius University to Rochester for the Flower City Invite!

This weekend is about more than just a Division I volleyball match. The Flower City Invite is part of our continued Grow the Game initiative, giving young athletes throughout the Rochester community the opportunity to experience Division I volleyball, learn from collegiate athletes and coaches, and see where the game can take them.

🌸 Saturday, September 12

Free Youth Clinic at the Main Street Armory
🏐 Open to boys and girls in grades 3–6
🎟️ FREE to attend
⚠️ Space is limited to the first 150 athletes. Registration is required.

Syracuse Open Practice

Today, we celebrate one of the most influential figures in Western New York volleyball.

Congratulations to Cindy D’Errico on her induction into the Rochester Red Wings Walk of Fame!

During her time at Byron-Bergen, Cindy led the Bees to three consecutive NYSPHSAA State Championships from 2004–2006 and five sectional championships. Her dedication, leadership, and passion for the sport have left a lasting impact on countless athletes and coaches throughout our volleyball community.

Cindy continues to be an integral part of the VolleyFX family as a member of our Board of Directors after many years of coaching within our club. She also serves as the WEVA Junior Coordinator, where she continues to create opportunities for young athletes and support the growth of volleyball across Western New York. Through decades of service, she has mentored athletes, developed coaches, and inspired generations of players. She is the epitome of what it means to grow the game.

One of the most touching moments of the ceremony came when Cindy was surprised by her daughter, Alyssa D’Errico, who was inducted into the Red Wings Walk of Fame in 2012. Alyssa was a member of Byron-Bergen’s three consecutive state championship teams before going on to win four NCAA National Championships at Penn State. She is also one of the greatest athletes in VolleyFX history and now serves as the Head Coach at the University of Utah.

What an incredible legacy for one family and for the sport of volleyball.

Congratulations, Cindy, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your unwavering commitment, your selfless leadership, and for inspiring generations of athletes to dream bigger and give back to the game we all love.
