Alumni Day Arizona End-of-Year Celebration 🎉

What a wonderful evening celebrating the Mayo Clinic community in Arizona!

Current learners Telisha Tausinga and Wallace Klein Schwengber shared heartfelt reflections on their experiences and gratitude for the support of the alumni community. Alumni Umesh Sharma, Mark Tyson, Liz Windgassen, Michelle Louie, and Theresa Kinard reflected on how meaningful it was to reconnect, make new connections, and spend time together.

This family-friendly gathering created a special opportunity for current learners and alumni to connect across generations—something that doesn't always happen naturally. Many attendees shared that they hope this celebration becomes an annual tradition, and we couldn't agree more!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so memorable. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Investing in the next generation of researchers is essential to advancing patient care.

Held during the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association Biennial Meeting in November 2025, the Young Investigators Research Symposium brought together 67 presenters—ranging from undergraduate students to early-career physicians and scientists—to share their research, gain valuable presentation experience, and connect with mentors and colleagues. The symposium highlighted innovative work across a wide range of disciplines while fostering the collaboration and professional development that drive medical discovery.

Some of the top projects explored topics ranging from the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on cardiorespiratory fitness to quality-of-life outcomes for patients with chronic pancreatitis.
