We are SO proud and blessed to have Mrs. Fitzgerald as our PreK-3 teacher! Everywhere she goes she brings joy, love, and enthusiasm for learning. Thank you for inspiring our youngest students to grow and sharing your warmth with us all! Maggie Fitzgerald
Our next spotlight is Maggie Fitzgerald! Maggie teaches PreK 3 at St. Ambrose Academy in Irondequoit! This is her 2nd year at St. Ambrose but her 15th year in education!
Do you have a hidden talent or fun fact that would surprise your students?
My students may be surprised to know I love hiking with my family!
What accomplishment of your students are you most proud of?
From the moment my students come into the classroom, they are making me so proud! Sharing toys with peers, exploring new ideas, listening to stories, creating art, using their imaginations, and working to learn new skills can be hard work! As Mr. Rogers once said, βPlay is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play IS serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.β
If you could pass along any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
In our class, we end each day by saying and signing the affirmation, βI am smart. I am kind. I am brave. I am loved.β I want my students to know how truly special they are just by being themselves.
