Lisa Greenwood, associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Management and Safety, was appointed last April as an international liaison between two key ISO Technical Committees. She serves as the liaison from ISO/TC 207, Environmental Management to ISO/TC 262, Risk Management.

Roan Everett John, a civil engineering technology major from Henrietta, N.Y., will study in Japan under the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. The scholarship is provided by the U.S. Department of State, and enables students to study or intern abroad while gaining proficiency in diverse languages and cultures. The program encourages students to conduct STEM-related research abroad as part of their study abroad or international internship program.

Prof. Rizk Sinada has been promoted to Principal Lecturer. Congratulations to Rizk on this promotion in his teaching career!
Prof. Rizk Sinada has taught a variety of courses in the Civil Engineering Technology program ranging from the first-year introduction to civil engineering course to the senior year capstone course and has committed to student success and continuous curriculum improvement over the past two decades.

Congrats to CVET student, Giulio Rasi, and ESHS/BSMS student, Vincent Chen on their recent awards:
*Giulio applied for and received one of the CET Alumni Endowed Scholarships, set forth by the RIT Alumni Network Board of Directors (ANBOD) in each of RIT's eight colleges.
Eligibility for the CET Alumni Endowed Scholarship is as follows:
-Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate program in the College of Engineering Technology
-No evidence of student misconduct
-Must be in good academic standing
-U.S. citizen or permanent resident
-Recipients must be able to show demonstrated outstanding --leadership abilities
*Vincent applied for and received one of RIT's Alfred L. and Ruby C. Davis Scholarships, administered by Financial Aid and given to students who have demonstrated significant effort toward the improvement and quality of campus.

Congratulations to CETEMS Retiree, Dr. Scott Wolcott, on winning the 2025 Donald C. Stone Excellence in Education Award, from The Genesee Valley Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA)!
Project of the Year Awards are provided in several categories based upon project size and types of projects. These successful projects have several things in common; a dedicated TEAM effort between the Owner, Design Consultant and the Contractor(s); solving difficult problems in a cost-effective manner under tight timeframes and difficult working conditions and providing the public with a finished project that benefits the community.
The awards will be presented at the APWA Awards Banquet on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Tickets for the Awards Banquet are available for purchase tickets by opening the following link:
