I tried Tonic - fresh juices & local food, Rochester's newest restaurant yesterday for breakfast - what a great and necessary addition to local food scene. You will be more than satisfied after enjoying one of the many delicious menu choices but don't leave without trying one one of their "muffins of the moment" - ours was a pumpkin muffin with goat cheese frosting and it was amazing!

There's a lot to do during the holidays but I know about this show, and you will be sad :-( if you miss it. If you only go to one Christmas/holiday show this year, this is IT :-)! If you don't believe me, ask one of the 6000 people in the Twin Cities that battle for tickets to their annual performance, this year at the State Theatre ... it sells out up there in minutes for a reason. This will sell out for sure, so I wouldn't wait. When they're gone, they're gone (e.g. Dessa, Cloud Cult).
The temperature has dropped below freezing, there's talk of snow in the forecast ... time to think happy winter thoughts. Also time to get your tickets to The New Standards Holiday show being performed for the first time in Rochester, MN on December 11 at the Rochester Civic Theatre. You know this is going to sell out, just like Dessa and Cloud Cult, so why wait ... get them today (Here's a great idea - if you're going to the Americana Showcase tonight, get your tickets at the box office before the show).

FINALLY ... a Thai restaurant in Rochester! I ate at Mango Thai yesterday (their first day) and it was excellent - from the delicate, spring rolls to the nicely spiced curry entrees, each dish is carefully prepared with fresh ingredients, balanced flavors and cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and attentive as well. It's brand new but the vibe in there was good ... really good. If you find yourself running up to The Cities to get your Pad Thai fix, save yourself some time and gas - go downtown instead, to Mango Thai.
