“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow].”Psalm 147:3 (AMP)
Sometimes we read verses about healing and immediately think about the end result. We picture the day when the pain is gone, the tears have dried, and our hearts feel whole again. But our foundation verse paints a different picture.
God is not only the One who heals. He is also the One who binds.
Before healing comes restoration, there is often a season of tender care. A season where the wound is still visible. A season where grief still comes in waves. A season where memories bring both smiles and tears. The beautiful promise of this verse is that God does not ask us to ignore our pain. He does not demand that we move on quickly or pretend we are unaffected by loss. Instead, He meets us in the middle of our sorrow.
When our hearts are broken, God draws near. When tears fall unexpectedly, God is present. When we don't have the words to pray, God understands. Healing is not the absence of grief. Sometimes healing happens while we are grieving. It happens as God gently binds the wounds that loss has created. It happens as He carries us through days that feel heavy. It happens as He comforts us with His presence, His promises, and the love of those around us.
Today, if your heart feels broken, know that you do not have to hide your sorrow from God. Bring Him your questions, your tears, your memories, and your pain. The Great Physician is not intimidated by wounded hearts.
He is still healing.
He is still binding.
He is still near.
Let this truth be in your heart all week!

Chatgpt unhinged bio of me😁
UNHINGED BIO:
Part educator, part ministry builder, part community strategist—and somehow also the person making sure kids have Capri Suns, parents have resources, and partners actually show up on time.
Runs programs, builds systems, , mentors people, organizes Bible studies, launches initiatives, writes emails, tracks data, AND still finds time to ask, “But did we actually help people though?”
Known for turning chaos into structure… and then turning that structure into a whole movement.
Can go from: “Let’s track measurable outcomes" to: “Open your Bible—we’re not just doing activities, we’re growing for real.”
Low tolerance for fluff. High capacity for impact.
Believes:
Showing up matters
Systems matter
People matter more than both
Will: ✔ Build the plan
✔ Execute the plan
✔ Fix the plan when it breaks
✔ And still send the follow-up email
Energy level: “Let’s get it done AND make it meaningful.”
Secret skill: making spreadsheets, outreach, ministry, and community work all live in the same room without fighting each other.
Mission in one line: Helping people grow—spiritually, practically, and purposefully—without overcomplicating it.

We often read this verse to give us a little extra push to keep going. I must admit the part about "at the proper time or in due time" (depending on the translation), kinda frustrates me. If you're like me you want a reward or at least acknowledgment for your effort.
The hard truth is keeping this train of thought leads to entitlement which slides into idolatry. Its a slippery slope.
God is God! Only He knows the proper time, its our job to trust Him, hold on and keep doing what He said do.
