Friends of TLI

This morning I had the privilege of celebrating 5 of our TLI girls who were honored at the Alpha Alpha Annual Scholarship breakfast. Since 2002, when Drella Bella, was the first recipient, this organization has supported one of our TLI girls throughout their college experience, both financially as well as through mentoring. I am so thankful to these women for helping so many of our graduates launch their own careers in education. Definitely a proud teacher moment!

Today our TLI seniors participated in their CTE Exit Interviews…sharing their portfolios and all that they’ve learned in TLI with other educators. It was really heartwarming listening to our seniors share the lessons they’ve learned and the different experiences that have helped shape their ideas about education. Definitely a proud TLI moment!

Congratulations to senior Ella French (American Sign Language and Health, Behavior, and Society). For the past year, she has been a Newman Civic Fellow. The Newman Civic Fellowship is a year-long program that recognizes and supports student public problem solvers, creating a network of connected and engaged student leaders who can support one another in making positive change.

Just one month away for our annual TLI End of Year Celebration! And it’s a “Dirty 30” Party! We’ll be nurturing our roots, showering our current garden of scholars with lots of love and preparing for new growth! Let’s fill the East High School auditorium on June 10th and celebrate 30 years of growing the next generation of educators and leaders!
