Campus & Career Connector came to fruition because of the passion, I Jolene Young, have for higher education and making sure students have access to college information. No matter a persons age, race, socioeconomic status, gender etc., college should be attainable and accessible by all. Currently, Campus & Career Connector has put on College Knowledge Nights in Rochester and a college fair in 2022
. Campus & Career Connector will aim to disseminate college information so that students are able to make better informed decisions about colleges, financial aid, scholarships and more. Make students aware of events that they can attend whether it is visit days, open houses, information sessions, sessions on financial aid, scholarships etc. College is probably one of the biggest decisions a person will make in their lifetime, being informed and being able to ask questions help make decisions that will affect students for a lifetime. I am a first generation, non-traditional student who has completed an diploma, associates, bachelor's and masters degree in a span of 10 years . I completed these while working full-time and being a single mother. I had many times that I wanted to quit but had people in my corner that wouldn't let me. No one is ever to old for education. Making sure you are a fit for the school you choose to attend is a major key to success and completing college.
